The grand opening of the museum in 1976 was an amazing day. This was such a historic event that many dignitaries were on the cay.

Here we have Hon. Sir Clement T. Maynard, KCMG, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Bahamas, and deputy leader of the Progressive Liberal Party on the left.

Next to him is sculptor and artist, James Mastin with Alton Lowe in the middle.

They are joined by Lady Dupuch and Sir Etienne Dupuch who served as a Member of Parliament in the Bahamian House of Assembly and was a leader in Bahamian journalism.
