Sculptor James Mastin

Frank Christie was the product of two divergent ethnic traditions in The Bahamas. His father, Isaiah Oliver Christie, descended from the English colonists who settled The Bahamas, and his mother, Margaret Alice Saunders, descended from one of the earliest settlers. Via a successful business career, Frank inherited his father's practical outlook on business. When he and his brother, Sir Harold Christie, inherited from his father a growing and profitable enterprise, Frank helped it to grow into one of great magnitude.
In 1930 he married Ruth Maynerne Pinder and the years brought children and grandchildren. He served in the House of Assembly for over forty-seven years. With his wife, Frank sailed and often travelled to Abaco to fish and to visit with his constituents.
