Captain John Bartlum (1814-1871) born in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco. He married Sarah Lowe and moved to Key West in 1846. He was a shipwright, and he built the clipper Stephen R. Mallory, launched in 1856 and worked for the U.S. Navy during the Civil War.
