Last summer, while we were waiting on local carpenters — they’re in high demand around here — we began some work on the Museum’s front room. Joe from Sid’s Grocery and his teenage son Jeremy helped clear under the porch and then started scraping the ceiling.

A group of friends from Stuart, Florida happened to stop by during a scavenger hunt and generously donated paint brushes and rollers. Thank you, Melinda, Jeff, and team — such a fun and unexpected boost!

Not much more could be accomplished over the summer due to the heat and the wait for workers, but we’re grateful it was a hurricane‑free season. And we are VERY GRATEFUL for your donations, which make it possible to keep moving this restoration forward.
